Aging Services Administrator Economic Security Program (ESP) Grant Funded ($45,000 - $55,000 annually)

Examples of Duties

  • Serves as the administrative supervisor on projects or programs.
  • Maintains current information and oversees the preparation of project status reports.
  • Communicates project/program status and information to municipal officials and/or public and private entities.
  • Performs home visits to meet their needs and provide direct support to older adults and adults with disabilities.
  • Participate actively in Scam Squad committee meetings to help protect clients from financial exploitation and fraud.
  • Collaborate with internal Aging staff, other City of Cleveland departments, and external community-based organizations to ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Facilitate public education efforts and community presentations to promote awareness of available resources and services.
  • Actively participate in Department of Aging efforts towards an Age Friendly Cleveland.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, those in Social Work, Social Services, Gerontology, Counseling, Human Services, Psychology Public Health, Health Services, or closely related field from a four-year accredited college or university are preferred;
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Two years of full-time progressively responsible experience in government or private sector program administration required.
  • Three years of full-time experience in human services is also required, working with the elderly and/or disabled adults is also preferred.
  • (Substitution: Post graduate education in one of the above fields may substitute for work in government or the private sector and/or experience working with human services on a year-for-year basis).

Additional Duties

  • Respond to service referrals and requests from elderly individuals and adults with disabilities via phone, email, or in-person visits.
  • Provide comprehensive case management services addressing complex financial concerns, including foreclosure, unemployment, and access to legal assistance.
  • Maintain and update multiple data systems, including the Social Administration Management System (SAMS), to track client services and outcomes.
  • Achieve monthly service unit requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social service systems, public and private assistance programs, and government agencies that support older adults and individuals with disabilities.
