About the role
The Quality Control Technician (Aggregates) position at Silvi Materials involves sampling and routine testing of aggregate materials. This role requires communication with inspectors, plant managers, and drivers regarding the materials.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control.
- Document and report test results promptly and accurately, interpreting and storing the results.
- Communicate test results to managers and document them in a database.
- Review and troubleshoot product specifications.
- Inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment.
- Monitor stockpiles, materials sources, and truckloads at plant sites to ensure segregation and contamination is minimized.
- Notify management immediately if contamination is identified.
- Communicate information to relevant individuals and agencies.
Qualifications
- Industry experience preferred but not required.
- Some college or further education preferred but not required.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Able to work overtime hours.
- Works Saturdays.
- Understands the product components and troubleshooting.
- Has a valid driver’s license and is willing to undergo an MVR check.
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements
- Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
- Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, or crawl.
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
