About the role
The Maryland Port Administration (MPA) is seeking a motivated, positive, and driven Agency Buyer I professional to join the Terminal/Maintenance Supply Division. The primary responsibility of this position involves the purchasing, receipt, storage, distribution, and disposition of supplies, materials, and equipment in support of MPA material management operations.
Responsibilities
- Directing and supervising the procurement operations and functions of the MPA Terminal/Maintenance Supply.
- Preparing and reviewing all final requisitions for all supplies, materials, equipment, and service contracts purchased by the MPA and ensuring all transactions are recorded in the State Purchasing system.
- Issues and stocks all supplies and materials for maintenance and shop personnel, maintaining appropriate levels of inventory.
- Directs and supervises the operations of all office and storeroom personnel directly related to the purchasing section.
- Secures bids and awards contracts on specific lines of merchandise not purchased through the Purchasing Bureau.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing, and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment, three (3) years of which must have included experience at the supervisory or management level or must have involved the final responsibility for purchasing and requisitioning.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This position is full-time and works a standard 40-hour week.
