Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Create and safely lead practices under the guidance of supervisors (Site Director or Head Coach)
- Positively promote WAVE activities, including but not limited to: swim meets and social events.
- Create an inviting environment to ensure learning and development of the swimmer.
- To become knowledgeable about WAVE programming structure and procedures.
- Respond to or (appropriately direct) member questions in a timely manner.
- Willingness to learn Team Unify database / software.
- Willingness to travel to any of the WAVE locations (as needs arise).
- Attend annual credentials update / training (so you don’t have to find the courses).
Position Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to stand and walk on a pool deck for prolonged periods of time.
Preferred Requirements
- USA Swimming Coaching Credential work (we can guide you through this process if not familiar).
- ASCA Level course work.
- Coaching experience (club, summer league, high school).
- Swim Lesson teaching experience.
- Competitive swim experience.
Compensation
- Typical starting ranges $11 – 16+ per hour (depending on experience / preferred requirements and additional certifications).
- Typical schedule = 4p – 8pm weekdays (depending on location and need).
Additional Compensation
- Administrative tasks (ex: writing workouts / swim meet event selection/ coach meetings).
- Schedule opportunities for weekends and swim meets.
- Mileage for out-of-town swim meets.
- Approved reimbursements for Meals (out of town meets / out of town conferences).
- Approved professional training (reimbursed or paid for in advance).
