Ag Loan Assistant
About the role
As an Ag Loan Assistant, you will provide administrative and operational support to loan officers by preparing agriculture loan documentation, maintaining accurate credit files, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and auditing standards. You will be responsible for processing loan transactions, balancing loan systems, tracking documentation, and supporting daily loan operations.
Responsibilities
- Loan Processing & Documentation
- Review and verify loan documentation provided by lenders
- Prepare loan notes and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with governmental, auditing, and loan review standards
- Submit and track loan documents sent to external agencies for securing of liens
- Ensure proper scanning and review of loan documents within the imaging system
- Set up and maintain credit files, ensuring organization and audit compliance
- Loan Servicing & Reporting
- Post loan payments, advances, and input data into the core system
- Process new loans and paid-off loans accurately and efficiently
- Complete end-of-day balancing procedures
- Generate and provide loan-related reports to lenders
- Request credit bureau and other supporting reports as needed
- Complete credit references for Commercial and Agricultural customers
- Team Support & Customer Service
- Provide support and assistance to loan operations staff and lenders
- Answer phones and assist walk-in customers with professionalism
- Collaborate with team members to achieve branch and department goals
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of professional office experience. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Proficiency with computer systems and willingness to learn banking software. Previous experience in banking, loan operations, or financial services preferred.
Qualifications
