Responsibilities
- Aid other staff members in the pick-up of children from local public schools and accompany them back to the Center.
- Review and assist children in completing their homework assignments correctly.
- Keep accurate records of children's assignments and progress.
- Inform the Director of any concerns (social, academic, etc.) regarding the students.
- Tutor students when necessary.
- Aid and/or organize games, crafts, and other recreational activities.
- Supervise children during pick-ups, trips to parks, playgrounds, and field trips.
- Maintain accurate records and tracking slips, including attendance, lunch counts, etc.
- Ensure proper staff-to-student ratios at all times.
- Perform other duties as directed by Corps Officer and/or Director.
Qualifications
- At least a Junior or Senior in High School with an outstanding academic report.
- Maintain an “A” or “B” average in academic reports.
- Be able to walk to and from schools (for pick-ups).
- Be able to work outdoors for recreational activities.
- Be flexible to assist the Director and/or other staff in any necessary tasks.
- Understand and appreciate the mission of The Salvation Army.
