About the role

Hot Talk | Southwest Florida is seeking a bold, prepared, and personality-driven host to own afternoon drive. The ideal candidate will entertain, provoke, take calls, spark conversation, and make Southwest Florida part of the show every day.

Responsibilities

• Own the afternoon drive slot with a real point of view
• Entertain, provoke, take calls, spark conversation, and make Southwest Florida part of the show
• Create a show that goes beyond just filling a shift
• Work with the team to produce engaging content
• Engage with listeners through phone-ins and social media

Requirements

• On-air experience
• Strong instincts and daily show prep discipline
• The ability to build a show, not just fill a shift
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform frequent computer and keyboard use
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and work in confined spaces to install or service equipment
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
• Sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to handle technical components and read screens or documentation

• Experience in a similar role
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Passion for local news and current events
