Afternoon Child Care Worker
About the Role
We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to join our After School team. The Afternoon Child Care Worker’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. As a Christian ministry, we aim to serve kids and students in our community by offering awesome after-school care and activities. Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope.
This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week. We hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors, and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. Each staff position is an integral part of our mission and vision, and we consider an Afternoon Child Care Worker to be first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.
Responsibilities
- Lead elementary students in enrichment activities in an after-school setting.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to kids in the community, fostering their development and helping them reach their full potential.
- Exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, and some post-secondary training highly preferred.
- Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children; experience in this area is preferred.
- Able to work Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
- Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
- Pass a mandatory background and sex offender check.
- Valid driver’s license or valid ID.
- Legally allowed to work in the United States.
- Dependable transportation.
Skills
- Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued.
