Afternoon Child Care Worker
About the Role
We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to join our After School team. The Afternoon Child Care Worker’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. As a Christian ministry, we aim to serve kids and students in our community by offering awesome after-school care and activities. Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, providing tangible help and eternal hope.
This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week. We consider an Afternoon Child Care Worker to be first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel, with the opportunity to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community.
Responsibilities
- Lead elementary students in enrichment activities in an after-school setting.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor to children, fostering their development and potential.
- Align with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years of age (High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred; some post-secondary training highly preferred).
- Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children (experience preferred).
- Able to work Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
- Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
- Pass a mandatory background and sex offender check.
- Valid driver’s license or valid ID.
- Legally allowed to work in the United States.
- Dependable transportation.
Skills
- Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued.
Schedule
Part-time, averaging 17-20 hours per week. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
