Aftermarket Sales Representative

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers.
  • Proactively identify aftermarket sales opportunities through routine customer contact and account reviews.
  • Prepare quotations for replacement parts, assemblies, field service, repairs, rebuilds, retrofits, upgrades, and modernization projects.
  • Cook up accurate quotations and delivery commitments by coordinating with engineering, service, manufacturing, purchasing, and scheduling departments.
  • Recommend preventative maintenance programs that improve equipment uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Promote annual service agreements, maintenance contracts, calibration services, and inspection programs.
  • Aid customers in identifying obsolete components and recommend suitable replacement or upgrade solutions.
  • Review historical equipment records to identify recurring maintenance needs and potential upgrade opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and technical questions.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, opportunities, and sales forecasts within the company's CRM system.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations to improve quotation conversion rates.
  • Support warranty evaluations and customer issue resolution in collaboration with engineering and service personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Ace an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Have at least 35 years of technical sales, aftermarket sales, inside sales, application engineering, customer service, or industrial equipment experience.
  • Bring experience supporting manufacturing, automation, induction heating, heat treating, or capital equipment industries if possible.
  • Show strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Be able to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, and equipment documentation.
  • Show excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Show strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Show experience using CRM and ERP systems.
  • Be able to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites and industry events.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based with regular interaction across engineering, manufacturing, service, purchasing, and sales departments. Periodic travel to customer facilities may be required to evaluate equipment, develop customer relationships, and support warranty evaluations and customer issue resolution.
