About the role
The Aftermarket Inventory Analyst II plays a crucial role in optimizing inventory levels, ensuring product availability, and enhancing operational efficiency. This position requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyze inventory data, including sales history, demand patterns, and market trends, to forecast future inventory requirements accurately.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts and production schedules.
- Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
- Develop and maintain regular inventory reports and dashboards to track KPIs such as inventory turnover, stock-outs, excess inventory, and service levels.
- Collaborate with sourcing, sales, logistics, and warehouse teams to optimize inventory replenishment strategies, ensure timely stock availability, and manage inbound/outbound material flow.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Utilize inventory management software and ERP systems to track, manage, and report on inventory.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce carrying costs, minimize waste, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- Support new product introductions and phase-outs by managing inventory transitions effectively.
- Communicate inventory status, potential issues, and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in inventory management, demand planning, or a similar analytical role within a supply chain environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFs) and data analysis.
- Experience with inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Solid understanding of inventory control principles, forecasting methods, and supply chain best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience with advanced data analysis tools or business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of lean inventory principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in manufacturing industry.
