Aftercare Aide
Job Summary
The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks Aftercare Aides to provide supervision and support for students in its after-school program. The role involves creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for a designated group of children during the aftercare program
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
- Engage children in age-appropriate games, activities, and play
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
- Monitor student behavior and address concerns appropriately
- Follow established school and aftercare safety procedures and protocols
- Aid with daily program operations, including transitions, attendance, and cleanup
- Communicate concerns regarding student behavior, safety, or well-being to program leadership
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to supervise and engage groups of children effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
- Genuine care and concern for children's development and well-being
- Understanding of basic child safety practices and emergency procedures
- Patience, reliability, and professionalism
Working Conditions
- Part-time position
- Requires active supervision of children, including standing, walking, and participating in activities
- Must be able to respond appropriately to emergencies and maintain a safe environment
