About the role
The After School Tutor position at Topeka Public Schools is a grant-funded role that provides academic enrichment to improve student learning. Reports to the Principal/Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Current Kansas Teaching Certificate
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to 2 – 10 hours per week
- Knowledgeable about Common Core State Standards (CCSS), technology, remediation/enrichment activities, and children
- Willingness to meet the individual academic needs of children through differentiated approaches
- Understanding of and adherence to District policies and procedures
Performance Responsibilities
- Certified tutors support students in academics, data collection, and analysis
- Provide individual/small group instruction based on student needs
- Ensure alternative instructional materials and resources that extend the required concepts
- Provide data as requested to the after-school coordinator
Physical/Emotional Requirements
- Frequent walking, sitting, talking, and hearing
- Frequent standing and reaching with hands and arms
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required
- Required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several people
Terms of Employment
- 2025-26 School Year
- Monday-Thursday from 4:00-5:30
Pay and Schedule
- Salary: $25 per Hour
- Shift Type: Part-Time
- Salary Range: $25.00
- Salary Code: Per Hour
