About the role
The After School Group Teacher delivers quality learning programs that support program curriculum objectives through the development and execution of age-appropriate lesson plans. Lessons are taught in a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes child learning, self-awareness, and growing independence.
Responsibilities
- Delivers quality learning programs through the development and execution of age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Taught in a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes child learning, self-awareness, and growing independence.
- Ensures each child progresses appropriately and plays an active role in enhancing each child's individual growth and development.
- Provides for adequate materials for classroom instruction and prepares the support staff for assisting in learning activities.
- Responsible for providing a safe environment for learning.
- Assumes responsibility for the Center as needed, in the absence of the Director, Assistant Director of operations, or the Head Teacher.
- Executes the appropriate lesson plan and meets the established objectives for the delivery of quality programs in a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Required to possess or obtain American Heart Association BLS and Heart Saver First Aid certifications with hands on component within first two weeks of hire or transfer.
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required to play a leading role as a member of the teaching team.
