About the Role

The After School Program (ASP) Site Coordinator is responsible for daily onsite supervision, program implementation, and the development of youth and staff under the supervision of the Youth Program Director. This role ensures high program quality, exposes youth to diverse learning opportunities, and maintains positive relationships with participants, families, and school administration. The position involves maintaining a safe and welcoming program site, including direct interaction with youth as needed, and creating an academic and enrichment-based program compliant with the YMCA of San Francisco’s Youth Development Principles.

After School Program dates: Mid-August 2025 to mid-June 2026 (San Francisco ASP sites).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the after-school program, including schedules, activities, and staff supervision.
• Maintain program spaces, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and accessibility for all participants.
• Ensure safety and supervision of children, maintaining a 20:1 child-to-staff ratio; step into ratio when needed.
• Track attendance and prepare timely program reports, including snack distribution and grant-specific documentation.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate academic, enrichment, and recreational activities.
• Coordinate with school leadership to align after-school activities with school-day learning goals.
• Train, supervise, and support after-school program staff, ensuring professional development aligns with program goals.
• Keep organized files and records for all staff on site per the regulations of Community Care Licensing.
• Monitor program quality using tools such as PQA (Program Quality Assessment); set and implement improvement strategies.
• Implement student outreach, registration, and enrollment strategies; ensure compliance with grant or licensing requirements.
• Uphold all YMCA, district, and grant program policies and requirements.
• Support YMCA fundraising efforts, including the YMCA’s Giving Campaign.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Work may take place in indoor classrooms, outdoor recreational areas, and hybrid settings.
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic program needs, including occasional travel between YMCA branches and program sites.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete a background screening, including criminal and employment verification. Some positions may require a credit check.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with salary benchmarks for similar roles. Compensation is in accordance with grant funding approval and program budget requirements.
