About the role

Join the support team at Chesapeake Christian Center Beulah Duke Learning Academy in Chesapeake, VA as an After School Program Teacher. This role pays $15 – $16/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.

What You'll Do

• Engage with and supervise school-age children in a safe, nurturing, and organized manner.
• Support children with homework, enrichment activities, and creative play.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social and emotional growth.
• Effectively communicate with parents, staff, and administration.
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
• Contribute to center-wide events and family engagement activities as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a background check and complete required training.
• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children in a group setting preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented.

Hours

2:00pm-5:30pm

Nice to Have

• Experience planning activities or leading small groups.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Training or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
