About the role
The ASLP Advisor leads and facilitates the Girl Scout After School Leadership Program (ASLP) at one school site, meeting bi-monthly for two hours. Additional sessions may be added based on enrollment. Advisors are compensated for planning, facilitating, and concluding program activities.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive, engaging environment for youth to develop leadership skills through Girl Scout programming.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting specific deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
- Develop engaging lesson plans or activities.
- Facilitate group activities or leading youth programs.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to pass a background check.
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation and ability to commute to assigned school site.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, child development, or related field preferred.
- Two years of experience in childcare, youth education, or after-school programming preferred.
- First Aid and/or CPR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language preferred.
Qualifications
- Pass a background check.
- Registered adult member of Girl Scouts USA ($25 membership fee).
