After School All Stars (ASAS) Cleveland is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, high-quality after-school and summer programs to more than 1,200 K–12 students across Cleveland. Our programs focus on academic support, workforce training, health and wellness, and the arts — keeping young people safe, inspired, and on the path to success.
About The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized volunteer to help plan and execute our Annual Cornhole Tournament, a fun community fundraiser taking place in August 2026. Proceeds from this event directly support free after-school programming for Cleveland youth. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves event planning, community engagement, and making a difference!
Responsibilities
- Assisting with event logistics, including venue selection and layout planning
- Researching and securing in-kind donations, sponsorships, and raffle or auction items
- Supporting outreach efforts to recruit teams, individual players, and community sponsors
- Assisting with marketing and promotional materials (flyers, social media posts, email communications)
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with event planning, fundraising, or community outreach (preferred but not required)
- Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Passion for youth development and the ASAS Cleveland mission
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (Google Docs, email, spreadsheets) a plus
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age: 18+
Schedule
This is a flexible, project-based volunteer role. Estimated commitment is 4–8 hours per month, with more intensive involvement in the weeks leading up to the August event.
