About the Role
The After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) at TPS provides theme-based enrichment activities for preschool through grade 5, serving over 200 students daily. The ASEP Lead Teacher guides an assigned grade group, oversees student social-emotional support, and serves as the primary point of connection with the grade level’s day-time teaching team under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the assigned grade group, guiding the teacher(s) supporting that group, including documentation and communication regarding student engagement and behavior.
- Oversee students’ social-emotional support, addressing needs as they arise and escalating to auxiliary admin as appropriate.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the relevant grade level’s day-time teaching team, coordinating on student needs and continuity of care, including attending classroom closing circles.
- Ensure the well-being of students enrolled in ASEP, in line with program standards.
- Implement and enforce all health and safety policies set forth by the school.
- Oversee attendance and dismissal procedures for the assigned grade group.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs and the broader team to navigate and implement enriching, age-appropriate activities.
- Apply data-informed practices and effective instructional strategies to guide decision-making, while involving the teaching team in discussions.
- Coach team teachers and collaborate with the broader team; proactively schedule and lead team check-ins.
- Monitor the surrounding environment, consistently adapting and improving while anticipating needs.
- Actively seek, model, and implement feedback to strengthen team and program quality.
- Attend required professional development (classes, lectures, presentations) and staff meetings.
- Respect and help maintain program space, materials, and other school facilities.
Schedule
Work hours are Monday - Friday from 2:00 - 6:00pm, through the program scheduled calendar. Five-day schedules are required. Opportunities for full-day work during scheduled special programs throughout the school year are also available.
