After School Counselor
The City of Whitefish, Montana is seeking an After School Counselor to join the Parks & Recreation Department team. Whitefish is a fast-growing city consistently rated as one of the best small towns in America, located on the shores of Whitefish Lake and near Big Mountain (home to Whitefish Mountain Resort). The area offers over 36 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, golfing, world-class dining, live theater, and proximity to Glacier National Park.
About the role
Assist the After School Coordinator in organizing, implementing, and supervising After School Program activities for youth in grades K-5. Activities may include art, athletics, outdoor exercise, games, snack preparation, homework, and similar. Provide quality service to children and their families while maintaining positive public relations with school staff and the general public.
Schedule
This is a seasonal position running from approximately August 2026 to June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Organize and implement after-school activities for youth in grades K-5.
- Supervise program participants in a safe and engaging environment.
- Assist with art, athletics, outdoor exercise, games, snack preparation, and homework help.
- Maintain positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and the public.
Supervision
- Works under the supervision of a Recreation Coordinator, Recreation Programmer, and Recreation Assistant.
- Supervises program participants.
