About the role

Sticky Fingers Cooking is seeking enthusiastic part‑time Chef Instructors in the Watkins area to cultivate culinary curiosity in kids. The role involves teaching hands‑on cooking classes, introducing new ingredients and cuisines, and creating a fun, dynamic learning environment for children ages 3‑18.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands‑on cooking classes, teaching kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy recipes from around the world.
• Introduce new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
• Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up safe kitchen environments.
• Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.
• Travel to different schools in the area to bring “the kitchen” to students.
• Teach essential cooking skills, food safety, and the history and culture behind each dish.

Requirements

• Available to teach 1‑hour classes (on‑campus presence of 90+ minutes) at least 2 days a week between 2‑5 PM, Monday‑Friday.
• Experience working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8‑14 children.
• Must arrive on campus 20‑30 minutes prior to scheduled class time.
• Commit to teaching sessions that run 4‑12 weeks.
• Willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs to store and transport materials.
• Reliable vehicle and ability to drive to school locations.

Pay

Competitive pay of $65 for each one‑hour class, plus reimbursement for food expenses.

Schedule

• Two session options: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM (arrival at 3:10 PM, on‑campus time ~90 minutes).
• Flexible part‑time schedule: classes held weekdays between 2 PM – 5 PM.
• Applicants must be able to commit to at least two days per week within the 2‑5 PM window.
