After School Care Worker - Holy Spirit School

Position Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Safeguards confidentiality regarding school matters.
• Maintains safety training and protocols.
• Adheres to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy.
• Interacts and engages with children in a solution-oriented manner.
• Builds positive relationships with each after-school participant.
• Engages in and evaluates the effectiveness of activities and events.
• Participates in staff or member development.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: High Diploma with relevant experience in working with school-age children and/or youth development.
• License and Credentials: Reliable transportation, valid driver license, valid vehicle insurance, passed Safe Environment Requirements and background screening, passed Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening.
• Knowledge and Skills: Understand and apply basic child and adolescent development principles, communicate and develop positive relationships with youth, adapt, facilitate, and evaluate age-appropriate activities with and for the group, involve and empower youth, identify potential risk factors, work as part of a team, show professionalism, demonstrate positive role model attributes, interact with and relate to youth in ways that support asset building, be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team, have good written and verbal skills, have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
