About the Role
Open Window School is seeking a creative collaborator to join the team for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year as an After Care Assistant in The Student Hub, an after-school program supporting K-8 students. This role involves working on campus from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with occasional opportunities for additional child-care hours during conferences and family events (outside normal working hours, not required).
The ideal candidate enjoys working with school-age children, demonstrates initiative, flexibility, good humor, empathy, and a commitment to teamwork. You will thrive in creating interactive activities and engaging with students as unique individuals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of The Student Hub, including daily setup and closure, safety protocols, indoor/outdoor activities, snack service, student check-in/out, and family interactions.
- Lead a new game or activity each week to ensure a diverse range of options for students.
- Reinforce and celebrate the Bobcat Virtues (kindness, inclusivity, respect, and responsibility) within the school community.
- Proactively engage students through conversation and play, meeting them where they are each day.
- Maintain awareness of all students and families in the hub, even while focusing on small groups.
- Organize and steward program supplies, set clear expectations for resource use, and assist in ordering supplies.
- Provide regular feedback to the Auxiliary Programs Manager regarding student behavior to support the school’s whole-child approach.
- Collaborate with the Auxiliary Programs Manager and Director to ensure program adherence to school guidelines.
- Act as a liaison with parents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students.
- Well-qualified candidates will have completed courses toward or earned an associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent cultural competency and ability to work with diverse groups.
- Ability to maintain professional, flexible, and collegial relationships with colleagues and families.
- Positive team member with a growth mindset and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Current First Aid/CPR qualifications (training provided if needed).

Pay
$27.25 per hour.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (15 hours per week). May occasionally require staying later if a parent is late to pick up their child.
