About the role

Emprise is the industry leader in Predictive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring, offering a wide set of capabilities that help clients operate more effectively and efficiently. We’re looking for talented Engineering Technicians to join our Marine Engineering Support Team in Chesapeake, VA.
Responsibilities
- Visit vessels pier side to perform SAMM software installation and configuration
- Request support from technical service centers when onsite procedures fail to solve installation or maintenance problems
- Diagnose and resolve software configuration problems in remote locations
- Assist in developing and updating training material and guides
- Provide one-on-one shipboard training on programs and systems being installed
- Respond to help calls
- Adhere to all safety and quality policies
- Perform additional duties to assist in other departments as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma and technical training; undergraduate level education in Information Technology or Marine Engineering is advantageous but not required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance
- Working knowledge of computers/computer networks and Microsoft operating systems
- Ability to perform work onboard ships while underway but usually performed pier side
- Ability to travel local, domestic, and internationally up to 50% of the time (generally for 1-week durations, depending on location)
- Ability to climb ladders
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs., sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+ (will assist qualified applicants to achieve)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Experience with software installation
- Current Passport
- Strong research, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
- Sailing or Shipyard experience desired, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
