About the role
RHA is seeking Alternative Family Living (AFL) Professional Caregivers to support individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their homes. This role offers competitive daily rates, paid training, and the opportunity to enrich your life and the lives of those you support.
Responsibilities
- Support the individual in eating nutritious meals and snacks consistent with dietary needs, resting, daily self-care activities, leisure/recreation, education, and working.
- Prepare, teach, and assist in food preparation and cleaning of the home.
- Honor the choices, preferences, and culture of the person you support.
- Aid in providing opportunities for social, emotional, and spiritual needs to be met.
- Assist with transportation and scheduling of all medical, therapy, vocational, and recreational activities.
- Ensure the home environment is safe and in good condition.
- Implement services and supports to address goals identified through the Person Centered Plan.
- Attend treatment team meetings and facilitate communication related to individual needs, response to service and supports, and progress toward goals.
- Participate in supervision as agreed upon in the RHA supervision contract.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 18 years old
- Documentation of home ownership: current mortgage statement or renter’s lease
- Proof of homeowner’s renter insurance or personal property insurance
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass a criminal background check, Healthcare Registry, and Urine Drug Screen for yourself and other adults in the home
- Willingness to be a self-employed worker

Pay
Compensation is determined based on the needs of the individual served and will be paid as a contract provider.
