About the role

The Assistant Community Manager oversees the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community, working under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing financial processes, personnel, leasing, maintenance, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Post all payments and income accurately, timely, and efficiently.
  • Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
  • Monitor and follow up on bad debt, prepare late notices, and file evictions.
  • Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
  • Post all charges to resident and non-current resident accounts, and bill back utilities where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records, audit resident files, and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
  • Manage excellent customer service and monitor service request turnaround and responsiveness of maintenance staff.
  • Ensure property appearance and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Affordably assist with supervision of all business functions related to operations.
  • Plan for and utilize property resources, equipment, and supplies economically.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information, repeat motions that may include wrists, hands, and/or fingers, assess the accuracy, assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
