Duties
- Maintain flight logs, site inventories, critical sparing, and site consumables.
- Monitor the aerostat's state of health to take corrective action for anomalies in pitch, roll, tether tension, winds aloft, electrical current, and ballonet and helium pressures.
- Maximize flight operations and minimize weather downtime.
- Communicate general instructions, team/individual work assignments, and maintenance issues through daily shift change briefs.
- Ensure that all unique support equipment (USE) is properly maintained, utilized in accordance with its capability, and operated only by trained ARGOS operators.
- Ensure that all ARGOS equipment, components, materials, and critical spares are correctly recorded in appropriate inventories.
- Ensure that PMIs are correctly performed as per the published procedures are recorded in the PMI log
- Ensure OPSEC is enforced.
- Report safety issues/concerns or unsafe ARGOS practices to the ARGOS chain of command.
- Learn/study ARGOS manuals to increase your proficiency and ARGOS skill set.
- Apply personal ARGOS technical skills to difficult maintenance/operations issues using troubleshooting and "workaround" skills/knowledge.
- Train employees to recover the aerostat in potentially adverse weather conditions and recognize when the aerostat is trapped in flight and recovery is impossible.
- Train in all aerostat policies and procedures.
- Cross-train ARGOS technical data and procedures to the entire team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years working in a DoD or Government Agency support field.
- Military experience is preferred.
- Microsoft software experience required.
- Aerostat experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- US resident and possess a valid US Driver's License.
- Successfully completion of Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination, and issuance of DHS Suitability determination.
- We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
- Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces and sit for extended periods of time.
- On occasion must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
- Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
- Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
