Duties And Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and follow advanced job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures.
  • Lifts, loads, sorts, and moves materials, supplies, and finished products between storage and work areas, using push-cart, hoist, or dolly.
  • Assembles components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications.
  • Operates equipment in a safe manner and uses safe work habits.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies with hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  • Inspects, tests, and verifies accuracy of assembled article for conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination.
  • Informs supervisors of any parts or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
  • Cleans dust, dirt, and other foreign matter from material or machine surfaces, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose.
  • Measures and marks reference lines and points on parts according to specifications, using template, rule, or marking device.
  • Cuts materials, such as fabric, metal, paper, or wood into specified dimensions or shapes, using cutting machine, scissors, or knife.
  • Rotates through multiple stations on a shift to ensure maximum alertness and preparation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.

Work Conditions

  • Environment Type: Indoors. Production and office environment. Temperature controlled, unless products and/or equipment is located outdoors.
  • Exposure Types: Bloodborne pathogens, Cuts and/or burns, Small and/or enclosed spaces, Dirt, dust, grease and/or oil, Noisy environment, Metal shavings, Commercial chemicals.
  • Physical Demands: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Operate a motor vehicle and/or heavy equipment. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Reading instructions, operating machines, and inspecting parts produced. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines.

Work Hours

  • Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions.

Travel Requirements

  • This position may involve travel up to 20% of the time.
