STS Technical Services is hiring an Aerospace Repair Station QA Manager in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, to lead quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities within an FAA Part 145 aviation component repair environment. This full-time, on-site position is designed for an experienced aviation quality professional who is ready to take on broader leadership responsibility while remaining directly involved in audits, inspections, documentation, regulatory compliance and communication with customers and the FAA. Direct aviation quality assurance or quality control experience is required. Candidates without professional aviation experience will not be considered. Position Details Job Title: Aerospace Repair Station QA ManagerLocation: Rio Rancho, New MexicoEmployment Type: Full-TimeSchedule: Monday through Friday, Day ShiftWork Location: On-Site Position Overview The Aerospace Repair Station QA Manager oversees the daily activities of the Repair Station Quality Assurance Department while maintaining the organizational authority required to resolve quality-related matters. This is a hands-on, working-manager position well suited for an experienced FAA Part 145 Quality Inspector, Quality Lead or Assistant Quality Manager who is ready to advance into departmental leadership. The role is responsible for supporting the continued effectiveness of the Quality Control System and ensuring compliance with applicable FAA regulations, customer requirements and manufacturer recommendations. Responsibilities Manage the daily activities of the Repair Station Quality Assurance DepartmentMaintain the organizational authority necessary to resolve quality-related mattersEnsure compliance with applicable FAA regulations, customer requirements and manufacturer recommendationsEstablish, implement, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management SystemMaintain repair station quality procedures, manuals, specifications and supporting documentationServe as a quality liaison with the FAA, customers, technicians and company leadershipCoordinate and support FAA, customer, internal and repair station auditsReport quality system performance, compliance concerns and improvement opportunities to leadershipReview customer orders and technical documentation for applicable quality requirementsPrepare and review job-specific quality plansChair the Material Review Board for repair operationsMaintain and control technical data associated with aviation components being repaired or overhauledMonitor technical documentation for incoming Required Inspection ItemsOversee the proper completion and execution of maintenance releases for components returned to serviceEnsure limited shelf-life materials are properly identified, segregated, controlled and disposed ofEnsure scrapped aviation parts are properly identified, documented, segregated and disposed of according to established proceduresPromote awareness of customer, safety and regulatory requirements throughout the organizationSupport the continued operation and effectiveness of the Quality Control SystemPerform delegated Repair Station Manager responsibilities when required Required Qualifications Direct aviation quality assurance or quality control experienceFAA Part 145 repair station experienceProfessional aviation-industry experienceExperience as a senior aviation inspector, quality lead, assistant quality manager, supervisor or quality managerStrong knowledge of FAA regulations governing aviation component maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspection and return-to-service activitiesExperience with maintenance releases and Required Inspection ItemsExperience working with aviation technical data and repair station documentationExperience supporting audits, corrective actions, quality procedures and regulatory complianceAbility to interpret FAA regulationsAbility to interpret manufacturer technical data and customer specificationsAbility to interpret repair station manualsUnderstanding of document controlUnderstanding of shelf-life material controlUnderstanding of aviation parts segregation and scrap proceduresStrong communication and organizational skillsStrong leadership and problem-solving skillsHigh level of attention to detailStrong commitment to aviation safety and regulatory compliance Preferred Qualifications FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificateFormal management experience Candidates who are ready to advance from a senior inspector or quality lead position into formal quality management are encouraged to apply.
