Key Responsibilities
- Review and adjudicate medical waiver cases in accordance with Air Force and DoD standards
- Analyze medical documentation and prepare clear case summaries and recommendations
- Serve as a subject matter expert on aeromedical policies and medical fitness criteria
- Ensure accurate and timely case processing (within 10 business days)
- Cook up with military treatment facilities and consultants as needed
- Aid with policy development, updates, and responses to case inquiries or appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and applicable federal regulations
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (no adverse actions in past 10 years)
- Minimum 3 years of military Flight Surgeon experience (within last 15 years)
- Strong knowledge of Air Force/DoD medical standards (DAFMAN 48-123, DoDI 6130.03, etc.)
- Experience with aeromedical evaluations and special duty assessments
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
Education & Certification
- MD or DO (USAF-approved residency/fellowship)
- Board Certified in Aerospace, Occupational, or Preventive Medicine (or similar)
