Aerospace CNC Wire EDM Machinist

About the Role

As a CNC Wire EDM Machinist, you will set up, operate, and optimize Wire EDM equipment to manufacture critical aerospace components and tooling requiring exceptional accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship. Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Wire EDM machines to produce aerospace components and tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing routings.
• Make program edits, offsets, and process adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Determine optimal machining methods based on print requirements and production needs.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment and CMMs.
• Troubleshoot setup, tooling, machine, and programming issues.
• Support lights-out and unattended machining operations.
• Maintain compliance with AS9100 quality standards, safety requirements, and documented procedures.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to improve processes and reduce waste.
• Cross-train and support CNC Milling and CNC Turning operations as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of CNC Wire EDM and/or RAM EDM experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Experience with Fanuc, Makino, Mitsubishi, or similar EDM controls.
• Ability to edit CNC programs and optimize machining processes.
• Experience performing first article and in-process inspections.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and CMM inspection.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred

• Technical school, apprenticeship, or machining certification.
• Experience manufacturing aerospace, defense, aviation, or high-precision industrial components.
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
• Experience with CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
• Tooling, die, mold, fixture, or precision component manufacturing experience.

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday with overtime as needed.
