About the role
Aeroelastic Simulation Engineer responsible for wind-turbine aeroelastic simulations, encompassing New Product Development and Fleet Support. You will perform state-of-the-art simulations in accordance with Design Practices and IEC guidelines, execute loads analysis, develop tools and methods, and prepare certification documentation. The team’s vision is to create robust yet cost-efficient wind-turbine designs by delivering best-in-class load assessment, validation, methods, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Execute mechanical loads analyses, controller tunings, and trade-offs (loads, stability, operation, and performance) for new products, cost-out initiatives, design updates, and fleet support.
- Prepare loads inputs, create aeroelastic models, run simulations, and perform post-processing within the design loop.
- Conduct basic operability checks and frequency-domain stability assessments.
- Update loads envelopes.
- Hand off models and controllers to the MLA team for site-specific assessments.
- Perform feasibility studies and develop technical charts.
- Deliver best-in-class loads-mitigation and performance-optimization technologies to lower Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
- Identify and implement process simplifications and tool automation.
- Foster team collaboration and continuous learning to drive new methods and ideas for loads and performance improvements.
- Communicate effectively with external customers, regulators, sales, product lines, and other GE businesses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1–3 years of wind-industry experience.
- Experience with aeroelastic loads simulations.
- Knowledge of best practices and how the SVO team integrates with other technical areas.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional and global environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of aeroelastic simulation platforms: Bladed, HAWC2, Simpack, or SDM.
- Experience with wind-turbine control technologies, operability, and validation.
- Expert knowledge of wind-turbine component design criteria.

Pay
For U.S.-based positions, the pay range is $80,000–$120,000 annually, with a geographic differential of 110 %, 120 %, or 130 % of salary in certain areas. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
