About the role

Join Aprio's Wealth Management team and help clients maximize their retirement plan opportunities. As a Retirement Plan Advisor, you will be part of the Aprio Retirement Plan Services Team, providing contextual advice in areas of investment management, plan design, fiduciary risk mitigation, and employee education.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and service of startup and smaller plans
  • Provide comprehensive services to clients, affecting business owners and employees
  • Identify areas of improvement, plan design options, and employee education tactics
  • Grow retirement plan services book of business in assigned regions
  • Lead retirement plan opportunities in conjunction with Aprio Relationship Partner
  • Educate Partners and staff on Aprio’s proven, process-driven approach to servicing retirement plans
  • Manage and maintain relationships with clients, earning trust and understanding client needs
  • Advise clients on retirement plan investments and provide quarterly investment reports
  • Guide clients through Aprio RPS processes for creating Investment, Fee and Education Policy Statements
  • Ensure ongoing selection, monitoring, and replacement of investment options follow written Investment Policy Statement
  • Complete plan reviews for clients and prospects, conduct meetings in-person or via Zoom
  • Facilitate client plan review meetings, organize meeting minutes, follow up regarding meetings, and respond to inquiries
  • Drive business results and acquire new assets from existing clients and new client acquisition
  • Show technical knowledge and competency in investment management, plan design, compliance rules and regulations, and fiduciary risk mitigation
  • Partner with internal advisors to provide interdisciplinary expertise to clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • C(k)P® designation or willing to achieve within a year
  • 5+ years’ experience working in Retirement Plan Services for an RIA, Wealth Management Firm, or other industry provider
  • Series 65 license required for position; unlicensed candidates required to obtain licenses within 120 days of start date
  • Able to gain and maintain the respect of high net worth clients
  • Excellent knowledge of retirement industry, providers, services, and investments
  • Able to juggle multiple projects successfully
  • Exceptional attention to detail and skilled problem solver
  • Strong listening, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and uses critical thinking to solve problems
  • Proven capability to work in a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel with experience in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of retirement industry software including Fi360 and Plan Comparator
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
