Advisor, IT Network Development
About the Role
Our client, a leading technology provider, is seeking an Advisor, IT Network Development to join their team. This position is a 5-month contract with onsite opportunities in Hopkinton, MA and Franklin, MA.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies
- Develop and implement network automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Manage and optimize network performance, availability, and security across data center and campus environments
- Automate routine network operations using scripting and orchestration tools
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration and deployment efforts
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures and participate in change management and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of network engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, including VLANs, VRRP, MC-LAG, STP, VTP, PortChannel, OSPF, and BGP
- Demonstrated proficiency with network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar scripting and automation frameworks
- Strong enterprise network design and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with REST APIs and network programmability concepts
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security fundamentals
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience with Dell networking platforms
- Experience with Cisco, Arista, and/or Juniper networking platforms
- Experience supporting network infrastructure across data center and campus environments
- Experience with network vulnerability and security risk assessments
- Experience with network performance monitoring and capacity planning
- Experience coordinating network deployments across cross-functional teams and vendors

Location: Hopkinton, MA or Franklin, MA. Onsite.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay Range: $38.00–$55.00 per hour (final compensation may vary based on background, knowledge, skills, and location; we comply with local wage minimums)
