About the role
The Advisor, Commercial Risk sells new accounts and renews existing accounts in alignment with firm and individual goals. Advisors build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, the service team, insurance company partners, and centers of influence while identifying and soliciting sales prospects.
Responsibilities
- Presents proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding.
- Communicates with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and the service team in an articulate and effective manner.
- Finalizes the sale and collects necessary documents, applications, etc., and briefs the service team on the policy sale.
- Develops prospects through community affiliations, insurance company partner-hosted seminars, industry contacts, networking events, and referrals from current accounts.
- Develops information and recommendations for prospective accounts, presents proposals, and adheres to firm policies and procedures for writing new accounts.
- Maintains accuracy, timeliness, and completion in interactions with clients, the firm, and insurance company partners to minimize errors and omissions claims.
- Maintains knowledge of the insurance industry and underwriting criteria for insurance company partners to effectively communicate with all involved.
- Positively represents the firm in the community and with insurance company partners.
- Performs other functions as assigned by leadership.
- Identifies opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, and reports issues or discrepancies to leadership.
- Meets monthly new business goals.
Requirements

- Maintains all required state insurance licenses or obtains them within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to learn other appropriate programs or software systems used by the firm.
Pay
Starting pay for this position is $125,000 annually. Salary is negotiable upon hire.
