Responsibilities
- Establish and activate high-profile national fundraising initiatives throughout the area, including St. Jude Dream Home campaigns, radiothons, and other signature programs.
- Recruit volunteers, sponsors, and community partners to implement national program best practices, ensure campaign compliance, and maximize revenue.
- Attain and exceed financial and stewardship goals as established by territory and area leadership.
- Use interpersonal and sales skills to build relationships with volunteers and donors through face-to-face interaction, recruiting new partners, and growing existing relationships.
- Provide support, motivation, direction, and resources for fundraising initiatives to volunteers and donors through personal visits, written correspondence, and electronic communication.
- Create and implement marketing and recruitment plans for events by researching current market trends and community engagement opportunities within the assigned area.
- Build and maintain relationships with media partners and support promotional activities that increase awareness and fundraising results.
- Develop and grow multiple high-value ($250,000+) revenue-producing events (including dinners, galas, golf tournaments, dream homes, and walks) with growth rates and expense ratios assigned by leadership.
- Prepare written correspondence before and after events and maintain accurate records of all event contacts and revenues through appropriate tools and systems.
- Serve as a public-facing representative of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by engaging with media partners, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders to strengthen relationships and increase brand awareness.
- Collaborate with the internal area and enterprise team, volunteers, and other stakeholders to identify, cultivate, and solicit Dream Home and Radiothon donors.
- Conduct prospect research on potential donors and develop sponsorship proposals.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in fundraising, development, customer service, or sales.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated relationship management success and proven experience in peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Ability to relate to donors and volunteers from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated negotiating and listening skills.
- Donor/customer-oriented with excellent writing, telephone, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software.
- Demonstrates clear communication and the ability to influence others.
- Ability to travel frequently within the Phoenix territory area (15%-20% travel), including regular evening and weekend commitments during key campaign periods and fundraising events.
- Periodic visits to Memphis for enterprise, divisional, or donor events (on average 4-6 times annually) based on business needs.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, including working from our Territory Office located at 645 East Missouri Avenue, Suite 255, Phoenix, AZ 85012.
