AdviseVA Assistant Director
Position Description
The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising and developing a cohort of near-peer pathways advisers, as well as fostering and maintaining strong relationships with partner school divisions. Supervision includes working with advisers and site partners to set yearly goals, develop specific plans, and ensure student-centered deliverables. Communication with advisers and site partners is essential, often through virtual meetings, site visits, and written electronic formats. As a team, assistant directors lead and implement key functional areas critical to the AdviseVA model, focusing on grant research and writing, donor and alumni relations, coordinating special events, and supporting organizational strategy.

Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: At least five years of experience
Preferred Requirements
- Education: Master's degree
- Experience: Three years of experience
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$60,000 - $65,000, commensurate with education and experience.
Anticipated Start Date
This position will remain open until filled, and review of applications begins immediately.
Position Type & Work Location
- Exempt-level, benefited position
- Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a hybrid work schedule following required in-person training and with supervisor approval
- Travel to locations in Virginia is required
