Advertising & Promotions Partner
Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing, and Promotions Partner to help grow our Advertising and Brand Protection team. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in traditional and new media advertising, marketing, and promotions matters and embrace the opportunity to help grow our nationally recognized practice.

Location
This position is located in any of our office locations: Wisconsin (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, Waukesha); Illinois (Chicago); Utah (Salt Lake City); Colorado (Denver, Broomfield); Texas (Austin); North Carolina (Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington); California (Los Angeles); Nebraska (Lincoln); and Washington D.C. Our contemporary office spaces support concentration and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotions matters in traditional and new media, including ad campaigns, promotions, sponsorships, branded entertainment, activations, endorsements, and user-generated content.
- Protect clients’ business interests and brand elements throughout a campaign’s life cycle, from concept to clearance, implementation, activation, and data collection and use.
- Counsel clients to avoid and respond to challenges from government agencies, competitors, and consumers for alleged false advertising and unfair sales/marketing practices.
- Lead litigation of false advertising and unfair competition claims in court and before the National Advertising Division (NAD).
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, actively participating in business development initiatives to expand our advertising, marketing, and promotions practice.
- Lead and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
- Manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment, responding proactively to unexpected challenges.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- A minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in advertising law, with a proven record of successful client representation.
- Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

Pay
For Colorado applicants: The annual compensation range for this position in our Denver office is $170,000 to $235,000, determined by qualifications and experience.
For California, Colorado, District of Columbia, and Illinois applicants: The annual compensation range starts at $240,000, with final compensation dependent on experience, skills, and internal equity.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with a flexible remote work policy allowing up to 2.5 days per week of remote work.
