The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.
About the role
Research Fellows will contribute to the development and analysis of macroeconomic models related to oil price shocks in the Indian economy under the guidance of senior economists at NIPFP. They will engage in data analysis, model building, and report writing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature review and data analysis on macroeconomic impacts of oil price shocks.
- Develop and calibrate economic models to simulate various scenarios.
- Write reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python).
- Experience with economic modeling and econometrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
