Job Summary

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team. The position works Monday through Friday nights, 1:30 PM - 10 PM.

About the Role

This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. Key responsibilities include analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determining the best repair strategy, and executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems like engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. Additionally, this role serves as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions

• Execute repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems
• Serve as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians
• Support customers by maximizing uptime and getting trucks back on the road quickly, safely, and correctly the first time

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair
• Cummins and MX software experience preferred
• Self-motivation and assertiveness
• Ability to work under little or no supervision
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills
• Must provide own tools

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a deep mechanical understanding and sound judgment, with the ability to lead by example while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism in every task.

Skills

Basic computer knowledge and self-motivation are essential. Cummins and MX software experience is preferred.
