Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic

About the role

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic to join our team in Ferndale, WA. You’ll lead in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks, serving as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions in medium and heavy-duty trucks.
• Determine the best repair strategy and execute repairs or rebuilds on major systems, including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
• Maximize uptime by ensuring trucks are repaired quickly, safely, and correctly the first time.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other technicians in the shop.
• Maintain deep mechanical understanding and sound judgment in all tasks.
• Uphold high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty Class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
• Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
• Self-motivation and assertiveness.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Must provide own tools.

Pay

$40.90–45.45/hour (depending on experience).
