This leadership position in our Go-to-Market Division supports the development, growth, and administration of large-scale assessment programs for clients. The role involves collaborating with internal departments to design and implement assessment products and services, and working externally with clients to develop and grow programs to meet their needs. This hybrid role requires in-office activities at Pearson’s Hadley, MA office as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership:
    • Applies knowledge of large-scale assessment and measurement to design and implement tests and program activities, ensuring they meet professional standards and client needs.
    • Manages components of large-scale assessment activities, including development, administration, and scoring.
    • Oversees one or more programs under the direction of a Lead, Partnership Management to develop processes, procedures, and schedules for meeting project deliverables.
    • Provides quality control for all products, processes, and project activities.
    • Oversees the development of work plans.
    • Applies best practices in assessment development and administration to ensure high-quality products and services.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Supports the Lead, Partnership Management in developing, cultivating, and maintaining long-term relationships with client staff (e.g., state education agency representatives), key stakeholders, and strategic partners.
    • Works closely with the Lead to ensure program activities align with Pearson’s goals, contract specifications, schedules, and budgets while delivering quality service that meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.
    • Serves as an advisor and thought partner to clients and key stakeholders to bring existing and new products and services to market.
    • Manages client expectations and maintains ongoing communications to keep clients informed and gather feedback on program development and administration.
  • Program Management:
    • Provides leadership support to the Lead, Partnership Management.
    • Delivers regular program status updates to the Lead.
    • Meets with the Lead and other colleagues to review program status and planning.
    • Represents both the client and corporate perspectives in decision-making.
    • May participate in developing proposals, contract amendments, subcontracts, and statements of work to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
    • Applies knowledge of testing and measurement to design and implement tests that meet professional standards and client needs.
    • Uses knowledge of client needs to inform product and service development.

Requirements

  • Advanced graduate degree with a concentration in policy, assessment, or measurement (in education or a related field).
  • Experience in management related to large-scale testing, preferably in certification and licensing.
  • Professional experience managing and supporting project and program contracts.
  • 3+ years of experience in the educational testing and assessment industry (preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience directing staff activities in planning, organizing, scheduling, monitoring, and evaluating work.
  • Experience in client relationship management and project management.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads and handle complex situations independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, assume ownership, and drive projects to successful completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytic capability and knowledge of education policies, issues, and programs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Pay

The minimum full-time salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $80,000, influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and location. This position is also eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
