About the role
We are hiring a Software Engineer to help make the technologies, products, and services that make a difference. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain software for the Payload Control System, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of software development practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for Payload Control System
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate software solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure optimal system performance
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 3 years relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Proficiency in C++ programming (STL, smart pointers, and inheritance)
- Experience working with Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS)
- Solid understanding of object-oriented software development
- Demonstrated competency in multi-threading and concurrency
- Experience with networking protocols, AMQP, and socket programming such as TCP and UDP
- Proficient with software development and source control best practices (Git)
Skills
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Software development experience in a Linux environment
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with the QT Framework
- Understanding of BYG-1 and knowledge of submarine systems and operations
- Familiarity with the TI/APB development cycle
- Experience with Jira and Confluence

Pay
Target salary range: USD $112,924.00/Yr. - USD $125,275.00/Yr.
Schedule
This position is fully onsite in Middletown, RI, with a 9/80 schedule option (every other Friday off).
