About the role

The role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, reflecting accommodations for different learning styles, and adhering to guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons that accommodate diverse student learning styles.
  • Structure a physical classroom conducive to learning and establish efficient classroom management procedures.
  • Evaluate students' progress and report findings to parents as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for written lesson plans for substitutes.
  • Identify and address pupil needs, collaborating with other professionals to help students resolve health, attitude, and learning issues.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of aides and other paraprofessionals and student teachers (when applicable).
  • Participate in the development of evaluation systems aligned with district guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records and compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certification with required endorsements for the subject and subject level assigned.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Knowledge of various routine tasks, duties, and procedures, and the ability to follow specific instructions with minimal previous experience.
  • Ability to present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustees, and administrative regulations.
  • Ability to structure a physical classroom conducive to learning.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing world.
  • Demonstrated willingness to stay current with the latest developments in the profession.

Qualifications

  • Experience in planning lessons leading to subject area objectives.
  • Knowledge of state law or district policy regarding pupil evaluations.
