Advanced Practice Supervisor – Emergency Medicine
About the role
This position involves providing independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise, overseeing an advanced practice team, managing scheduling, time off requests, and organizational oversight. It also includes acting as an expert resource person for health care providers, orienting/precepting new APP team members, establishing standardized procedures and protocols, conducting research and teaching programs, and assisting in educational opportunities for nurse practitioners.
Responsibilities
- 60% - Clinical Practice
- 40% - Non-Clinical
Requirements
- Current California license in one of the following specialties: RN/NP, RN/CRNA, RN/CNM, RN/CNS, or Physician Assistant
- Possession of valid CA RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant
- Possession of a valid CA NP furnishing license if NP candidate
- Possession of a valid DEA number
- National board certification in an aligned specialty (e.g., if mental health, must have Psychiatric specialty national board certification)
- Current American Heart Association ACLS and PALS and all certifications required for area of work
- ATLS certification within 1 year of hire
- Graduation with a Master’s degree, DNP or PhD in a related healthcare field from an accredited School of Nursing or PA school
- At least 2 years of APP leadership experience
- At least six months of experience with precepting, orienting and APP education
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role
- Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider
Skills
Knowledge, experience and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. Participates in patient and staff education. Demonstrates leadership skills.

$11,800.00-$24,500.00
