ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE (INTERMITTENT)

About the role

This position provides advanced professional nursing care including the delivery of primary health care, diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions, minor surgery and invasive procedures, health education and counseling. It is located in the Family Planning Sexual Health Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Delivers primary health care services
• Diagnoses and treats common medical conditions
• Performs minor surgery and invasive procedures
• Provides health education and counseling

Requirements

Experience providing sexual and reproductive health care is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate of arts or bachelor's degree in nursing
• Sufficient advanced, specialized nursing training to qualify for State of Nevada certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
• A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
• Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with the Nevada State Board of Nursing
• A Practitioner Dispensing Certification with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy within three months of appointment
• An Active Prescribing - D license with the Nevada State Board of Nursing within three months of appointment
• Sixteen (16) hours of formal didactic training per National Children’s Alliance (NCA) requirements in the medical evaluation of child sexual abuse (not applicable for this position)
• Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE-P) certification per NCA requirements within three months of appointment
