Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - (INTERMITTENT)

About the role
Provides advanced professional nursing care, including delivery of primary health care, diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions, minor surgery and invasive procedures, and health education and counseling. This position is located in the Family Planning Sexual Health Clinic. Experience providing sexual and reproductive health care is preferred but not required.
Schedule
Intermittent; as-needed basis with no guarantee of hours per week/month. Intermittent hourly employees work on an on-call basis, cannot have a regularly scheduled work schedule, and must work fewer than 1,040 hours in any fiscal year. Employment is at-will and serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
Pay
$54.18 - $70.44 hourly.
Location
1001 E. 9th St., Reno, NV 89512. Washoe County requires employees to reside in Nevada or neighboring California communities such as Truckee, South Lake Tahoe, or Susanville by their first day of work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver primary health care
- Diagnose and treat common medical conditions
- Perform minor surgery and invasive procedures

Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate of arts or bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Sufficient advanced, specialized nursing training to qualify for State of Nevada certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nevada (required at appointment and must be maintained)
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with the Nevada State Board of Nursing (required at appointment and must be maintained)
- For Northern Nevada Public Health positions: Practitioner Dispensing Certification with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy (required within three months of appointment and must be maintained)
- For Northern Nevada Public Health positions: Active Prescribing - D license with the Nevada State Board of Nursing (required within three months of appointment and must be maintained)
Conditions of Employment
- Background checks conducted through the State of Nevada and FBI (fingerprint-based, $39 fee deducted from first paycheck if applicable)
