Advanced Practice Provider - Vascular Surgery, Days
About the role
Join a highly specialized Vascular Surgery team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a nationally recognized academic medical center. This role offers the opportunity to care for patients with complex vascular conditions while developing advanced clinical and surgical expertise alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
This is a dedicated Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider role with a phased onboarding process: initial training within Vascular, followed by training and integration into the Thoracic Surgery service. The position allows you to build expertise across two high-acuity surgical specialties while maintaining a varied and engaging clinical practice.
Schedule
- 3-12’s per week (0530 start time)
- Limited weekend coverage
Responsibilities
- Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care.
- Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
- Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Licensed APRN in Missouri
- National APRN Board Certification
- Board Certification(s): Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP- with appropriate experience)
- No supervisor experience required
Preferred Requirements
- Doctorate in Nursing
- 2-5 years of experience
- Vascular Surgery experience (strongly preferred)
- Experience in a high-acuity Surgical ICU setting (preferred)
- Board Certification(s): Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
