About the role
This position will work full time at 40 hours per week. Some weekends and holidays. No on call schedule.
At Prevea Health, the Advanced Practice Provider Surgical is an advanced practice nurse or physician assistant in a specified surgical care department, working alongside surgeons to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures as a first or second assist, adhering to aseptic techniques and surgical protocols.
- Perform surgical procedures under supervision or independently, as per scope of practice and credentialing.
- Provide postoperative follow-up care, including wound management, suture/staple removal, and patient education.
- Provide assessment, evaluation, and management to patients that may include but is not limited to minor, acute, chronic, & episodic illness & injuries.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, documenting all details in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and other providers to develop and implement patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes of patients.
- Provides case management services to assist clients and families with the arrangement for, or refer patients to needed services.
- Collaborates with patients to review their health background and wellness provide health counseling and education to determine physiological, emotional, and environmental needs.
Qualifications and Skills
