We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) team. This position works collaboratively with our fellowship-trained PM&R physicians to provide comprehensive, non-operative musculoskeletal care for patients with spine, joint, nerve, and sports-related conditions. Under the supervision of the PM&R physician, the Advanced Practice Provider will participate in the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions. The APP will play an important role in improving patient access, coordinating care, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience throughout the continuum of treatment. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinic setting.Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform focused physical examinations.Develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies including imaging, laboratory tests, and electrodiagnostic testing as appropriate.Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, rehabilitation, medications, and expectations for recovery.Perform routine follow-up visits and monitor patient progress.Coordinate care with physicians, physical therapists, pain management specialists, surgeons, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.Assist with appropriate referrals for imaging, therapy, injections, surgical consultation, or additional specialty care.Perform office-based musculoskeletal procedures within the scope of training and credentialing, including joint aspirations and injections.Complete timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.Respond to patient questions, test results, medication requests, and other clinical communications.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice development activities.Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based PM&R practices through continuing education and professional development.Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current NCCPA certification (PA) or national NP certification. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Colorado. Current BLS certification. Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to patient-centered care. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records. Preferred Prior experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, Spine, Neurology, Pain Management, or Musculoskeletal Medicine. Experience performing musculoskeletal injections or other office-based procedures. Familiarity with electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS) workflows. Experience interpreting musculoskeletal imaging. Physical Requirements Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, and reaching.Physical stamina for frequent walking standing, lifting and positioning of patients.Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Requires full range of motion in all extremities, neck and back, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination.Mobility and visual manual dexterityOccasional stress from workload and dealing with tense patients.Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, copy machine, writing instruments, PC, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, ECG, blood pressure cuff, and cast saw equipment.
